Municipal Roads Grants In Aid Project

The Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) has partnered with Vermont’s Regional Planning Commissions (RPC) on the Municipal Roads Grants In Aid Program. This program provides funding for municipalities to implement best management practices (BMPs) on municipal roads to support compliance with the DEC Municipal Roads General Permit (MRGP).

Municipal Grant-In-Aid Program SFY20- Year 3

The Vermont Department of Environmental Conservation will be offering a third year of funding for the Grants-In-Aid Program (pending funding approval through the legislature).  Letters of Intent to participate in this program were sent to municipalities on May 31, 2019.  Copies of the letters that were sent can be found by clicking the links below.  Municipalities must sign the letters to agree that the funding will be used to help them bring their connected road segments up to MRGP standards.  DEC is once again working closely with local Regional Planning Commissions to greatly reduce grant administration and reporting efforts for municipalities.  Signed letters must be returned to the Northwest Regional Planning Commission by July 3, 2019 to participate in the program.
