Municipal Roads Grants In Aid Project

The Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) has partnered with Vermont’s Regional Planning Commissions (RPC) on the Municipal Roads Grants In Aid Program. This program provides funding for municipalities to implement best management practices (BMPs) on municipal roads to support compliance with the DEC Municipal Roads General Permit (MRGP).

Municipal Grant In Aid – Spring 2019 (Year 3):

DEC anticipates that they will again be offering the Municipal Grant In Aid program (pending funding approval through the legislature). Letters will be going out to towns during the spring of 2019. The letters will ask towns to sign Letters of Intent if they are interested in receiving grant funding to help them bring their connected roads up to MRGP standards.  DEC is working closely with local Regional Planning Commissions to greatly reduce grant administration and reporting for towns. Information and materials for the 2019 program will be posted here when they become available.

If you have questions about this program, please contact your local Regional Planning Commission.
